Fire burns through the house . The the young children scatter to the safety of their eldest sister,Ida, 17.
Their mother, Sarah Jedeki , a once vibrant artist in love. Things fell apart when her husband became odd in the head. He kept saying, "they aren't right", to his wife. She couldn't understand why he had hated his children.
Not long after his confession of hatred, he set the house on fire. He was arrested and never returned . He lived close by and paid money to his family.
The days and nights grow long for Sarah. A once strong woman who had a partner, now stands alone facing her daughter.
Ida's has magnetic blue eyes. That she paints with bright eye-shadows and outlines in black eyeliner. A trait she learn from her mother.
Every finger has a ring, especially her middle. A gold cross on both hands adorns that spot.
Sarah sees a cruel, stubborn, monster. It needs to control and will do anything in its power to get what it wants.
She knew why her husband said that now.
The electricity went out from the storm. Sarah stays awake. Intuition tells her something is going to occur. Holding a white candle in her hand. She sits on the porch. Barley able to see outside her kitchen through a stained glass window. She hears the clicking of a fingernail tapping three times on the window. Sarah opens the door. Nothing. A strange vibe surrounds her.
She hears a loud thump upstairs. Running the wood steps to noise. Sarah slams the door open. Her eyes focus on Ida. The deviant is standing by the window encouraging her young siblings to slip out the window. Her plan is to raise them as her own.
Sarah dressed in a long night gown, picks up a wooden baseball bat and hits Ida in the head. Yet that doesn't stop Ida.She pushes her mother out of the bedroom. They wrestle each other by the stairs. Both fall down the steps, Sarah hurts her head. Ida walks outside barefoot and grabs a machete from the garage. Her mother on the floor bleeding from head.
Ida yells, "Not fair you get all the attention. What about me! What about me! Mother!"
Sarah looks about and sees Ida raise the machete in her hand, "No Ida!"
Her screams mean nothing. She backs up in the corner ,like a beaten dog. Ida hacks the blade into her mothers right arm once then twice. Then hits her left arm three times. She cry's out in agony.
The young ones see the horror. Ida turns in rage. She chases them down and punishes both of them.
Black makeup smeared across Ida's face. She adjusts her clicking of a fingernail and fixes her makeup.
The police arrive. During the investigation they find the mother did this to her children.
